If All Else Fails In Your Job Search, Do You Have a Plan B?

What is your Plan B to self-employment if all else fails in your job search? Do you know your career options or any ideas for self-employment? How often do you hear people ask you these questions? When I was being asked these questions, I just laughed. When I look back, I honestly did not have a solid Plan B. I thought I have a job that will last until I am ready to retire. I know there are a lot of people out there who think the way I do. Boy, I was wrong big time! Being laid off opened my eyes to the reality that we are all expendable and we need to have a Plan B. We need to explore other avenues for self-employment. Companies can get rid of us at any time and when that happens we are on our own to fend for ourselves.

Losing a job was a rude awakening for me and prompted me to explore other career options that I may want to pursue. I want to ensure I will always be in control of my own future. I started looking at other ways to earn a living aside from working for corporate America. I went to the Small Business Administration, met with SCORE counselors, and attended several of their workshops. I highly recommend anyone who is thinking of starting a small business to check out Small Business Administration as they offer tremendous help to anyone to succeed in any business endeavor.

What I found out during my research and through the workshops I have attended is I needed some financial resources and depending upon what kind of business I want to have, it may require a lot of capital to start my own business. Having just lost my job, I knew I don't have the resources to fund a business nor do I want to take a business loan. So I kept looking and exploring different avenues.

In my search for self-employment, I came across three business opportunities for myself that I will share with you. These are my Plan B with more ideas swirling in my head waiting to be explored.

The first one is SendOutCards. This is one business that I am very passionate about. I love the product and the mission and vision of the company. This is definitely a product that will allow you to touch and connect with someone on a personal and business level in a most economical and simplest way.

The second is having the ability to generate some income through this website. As you can see, this website is powered by SBI. I am forever grateful to have stumbled upon SBI. It definitely opened me to the world of web design and web hosting. It challenged me to learn web design, and even a non-techie like me succeeded in having a website like this!

I took advantage of all the free information and training SBI offered to create this website and developed an association with SiteBuildIt through their affiliate program. Being technically challenged, I never thought I can build a website but I feel pretty proud of myself for what I have accomplished. Here is why I chose SiteBuildIt.......
